The 2021 Determined to be a Doctor Someday Virtual Program is the online version of the traditional in-person model. It has been developed for interested students ages 14-18 who wish to pursue a career in healthcare or have no clue of what they want to become. The primary purpose of the Program is to provide exposure to different healthcare careers in a transparent yet fun and engaging format.
Students selected for the Program will represent minority, rural, economically-disadvantaged, and/or first-generation students of ANY racial background.
Age-appropriate activities will be done and students will participate in monthly virtual sessions from January to May with a virtual White Coat Ceremony to celebrate those who consistently attended. The tentative dates for the sessions are as follows: January 30, 2021, February 20, 2021, March 6, 2021 (social event), March 20, 2021, April 10, 2021, May 15, 2021, and June 12, 2021 (designated for the White Coat Ceremony).
Attendance at every session is required and will be taken at each event. Not attending will lead to dismissal from the Program and disqualifies the participant from participation in the White Coat Ceremony.
The links for each session will be sent to all participants through email the day before the event. Be sure to check your email and spam folders to verify your receipt of the link.
